On March 19, 2025, a phone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, David Lammy, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
During the phone call, the parties discussed cooperation issues between the two countries, the current regional situation, and the state of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The British minister extended his congratulations on the occasion of the Novruz holiday and expressed confidence in the further development of relations between the two countries.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on the current situation in the region and the peace process, emphasizing that despite the conclusion of negotiations on the peace agreement text, it is essential to amend the Armenian constitution to eliminate territorial claims against Azerbaijan to proceed with the signing. He also stressed the importance of abolishing the OSCE Minsk Group and other related structures that are no longer relevant.
The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
