Azerbaijani FM receives Greek Deputy Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has received Deputy Minister of Republic of Greece Alexandra Papadopoulou who’s on visit to Azerbaijan. APA reports citing the Ministry.

At the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and Greece on bilateral and multilateral platforms, as well as Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process and regional issues.

They brought attention to the increased contacts between the leaders of the two states and the political consultations held between the foreign ministers being important in terms of the discussion of the prospects for the development of relations. The parties noted the importance of developing the relations in the political, trade, energy, agriculture, tourism, humanitarian and other fields and expansion of cooperation in accordance with the interests of peoples of both states.

The parties also pointed out the exceptional importance of the Southern Gas Corridor, the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline, as well as the Greece-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector, as they comfirmed the importance of energy cooperation between the two countries.

In this regard, the confidence was expressed for successful cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy contributing to the development and stability of the region and covering other areas of mutual interest.

At the meeting, opinions also were exchanged on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
