Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov addressed an event marking the 80th anniversary of the UN in Baku, emphasizing Azerbaijan’s unwavering commitment to multilateralism, international cooperation, and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter, APA reports citing MFA Press service.

The Minister underlined Azerbaijan’s active engagement within the UN system — including its non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council and its membership at the ECOSOC — and its growing contribution to global initiatives such as chairing the NAM, hosting COP29, and advancing sustainable and inclusive development.

Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan and the United Nations have successfully completed the Azerbaijan-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2021–2025, and that the new Framework document, signed today for the years 2026–2030, marks a new phase in the Azerbaijan-UN partnership.

He also highlighted upcoming milestones — WUF13 and World Environment Day 2026 in Baku — as part of Azerbaijan’s broader vision to link urban sustainability with climate action and to strengthen the country’s role in global climate diplomacy.

Minister Bayramov reaffirmed that Azerbaijan will continue to work with all partners to foster peace, dialogue, and sustainable progress worldwide. He called for strengthening partnerships, exploring new avenues of cooperation, and reaffirming a shared commitment to building a world that is more peaceful, more just, and more sustainable for present and future generations.
