The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine continues its activities, said Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, in response to APA’s inquiry.
The MFA official emphasized that the evacuation of the embassy staff is not planned.
Note that on November 14, at approximately 1:00 a.m., as a result of missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, one of the Iskander-type missiles fell on the territory of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine. A part of the embassy’s perimeter wall was completely destroyed, structures, service vehicles, the administrative building and the consular section of the Embassy were damaged, and the diplomatic mission’s premises sustained serious destruction; however, the strike did not cause any loss of life. In connection with the incident, today the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikhail Yevdokimov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a note was delivered to Russia.
