Azerbaijani, Belarus PMs meet in Minsk, sign documents regarding implementation of several projects in Aghdam

During an official visit to Minsk, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Belarus's Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

The meeting began in a limited format, followed by discussions involving both countries' delegations.

The Prime Ministers expressed satisfaction with the high level of intergovernmental relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, noting the dynamic development of mutually beneficial partnerships across various sectors due to the close contacts and joint efforts of the two Presidents.

The significance of the Belarusian President's state visit to Azerbaijan in May of this year was highlighted.

The government heads discussed current issues related to economic and trade cooperation, noting a 39% increase in mutual trade volume in the first eight months of this year. They expressed confidence that this trend in trade turnover growth would continue.

The importance of the joint decision by the Presidents to prepare projects in several promising areas of mutual interest was emphasized, providing a significant impetus for multifaceted cooperation.

In this context, special attention is paid to the implementation of agreements and directives from both Presidents.

They expressed satisfaction with the progress in developing specific projects in various sectors, including industrial cooperation, the establishment of agro-towns in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, and vocational education.

Industrial cooperation was identified as a key focus area for Azerbaijan-Belarus collaboration, with particular attention given to the successful interaction between the Ganja Automobile Plant and Belarus's leading machine engineering enterprises.

The Prime Ministers highlighted the stable development of cooperation in the agricultural sector and confirmed their readiness to increase mutual supplies of agricultural products.

They deemed it essential to deepen cooperation in the transport and transit sector.

Both PMs expressed satisfaction with the high level of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, praising the intensification of cultural, scientific, and youth exchanges, as well as the development of mutual activities in education.

They also noted the expansion of interregional cooperation, highlighted by agreements signed during the Belarusian President's state visit, which established sister city relations between several cities of the two countries.

The potential for enhancing tourism cooperation was emphasized.

Ali Asadov and Roman Golovchenko discussed the prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation and expressed their readiness to work together on all current issues of mutual interest for Azerbaijan and Belarus.

As a result of the negotiations, several documents were signed regarding the development of agricultural production in the Agdam district, healthcare cooperation, the design of an agro-town in the village of Gizil Kangarli in the Agdam district, and the supply of firefighting equipment.
