"Richard Raši’s visit is an indication of the high level of interparliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia," the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, said during a joint press conference in Baku with the Speaker of the Slovak National Council, Richard Raši, APA reports.
“During today’s discussions, we shared a common view on further expanding interparliamentary relations,” Sahiba Gafarova said.
According to her, relations between the two countries have risen to the level of a strategic partnership.
The Speaker of Parliament emphasized that cooperation between the countries is developing in the fields of economy, trade, energy, and the defense industry, while humanitarian cooperation holds special importance.
Sahiba Gafarova also drew attention to the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation signed today between the two parliaments, noting that the document would pave the way for broader parliamentary cooperation.
“On the other hand, the delegation of the Slovak parliament will also visit the village of Bash Garvand in Aghdam. As you know, the construction of this village is being carried out by Slovak companies. We highly appreciate Slovakia’s support for Azerbaijan in the reconstruction of Karabakh. This village will become an example of Azerbaijani-Slovak friendship in the territories liberated from occupation,” the Speaker of the Milli Majlis added.
