A delegation led by Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev participated in the 7th Congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on October 1-2, the Constitutional Court’s Press Service told APA.
The congress was dedicated to the topic of constitutional justice in the context of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
At the official opening of the event, a letter from President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed to the congress participants was read out.
As part of the visit, at the initiative of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a working meeting of the constitutional courts that are members of the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Turkic World (TÜRK-AY) was held, and views were exchanged on prospects for developing cooperation among the courts that are members of the organization and on future areas of activity.
Furthermore, during meetings between the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a delegation headed by Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov, the sides discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of constitutional justice, as well as the expansion of the exchange of experience.
The Samarkand Declaration was adopted at the conclusion of the congress.
