Kamran Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General, met with Stefan Blättler, Attorney General of Switzerland, as part of his working visit to China, the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
Recalling his visit to Baku, Blättler hailed Azerbaijan’s rapid development, as well as the country’s successful policy of combating crime, the control of the criminal situation, and the high level of security. He underscored Azerbaijan’s active involvement in international and regional initiatives, describing the country as a platform for peace and stable cooperation. Blättler also highlighted Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of numerous prestigious events.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev emphasized the importance of existing direct dialogue between the prosecutor’s offices of both countries amid the rising transnational crime in a globalized world. He expressed hope that enhancing cooperation between the prosecutorial bodies of the two countries would contribute to the prompt settlement of practical matters.
The meeting also discussed expanding the legal framework of cooperation between the prosecutorial authorities, mutual legal assistance in specific criminal cases, and extradition of criminals.
