As a result of the gradual and coordinated measures taken by the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on June 3, 2025, 13 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who had traveled to the Syrian Arab Republic were repatriated to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani MFA told APA.
First of all, the location, identity and citizenship of the repatriates of the Republic of Azerbaijan were determined.
Representatives of the relevant state bodies responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria were sent to the Republic of Türkiye, and the initial medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was carried out.
The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Türkiye, through appropriate coordination work, provided our citizens with return certificates and plane tickets to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It is planned to implement appropriate measures for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of repatriates into society.
"The government of the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to take necessary measures for the repatriation of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have become victims of armed conflicts in foreign countries," the statement reads.
