"In 2024, Azerbaijan's gas production was a total of 23 billion cubic meters, 9 billion cubic meters were exported to Europe," Anar Mutallimov, the acting head of the Foreign Ministry's Military-Political Affairs Office, said in the forum in Baku within the framework of Energy Security and Climate Change within Azerbaijan's partnership with NATO, APA reports.
He stated that Azerbaijan is committed to its obligations regarding the importance of security in Europe: "Looking back over a 30-year period, Azerbaijan has achieved significant progress. Azerbaijan prioritizes active political cooperation with NATO on various issues. It has undertaken commitments to enhance security in the Euro-Atlantic region. Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in terms of security sector reform, environmental protection, peace and security, as well as energy security. For many years, Azerbaijan has acted as a bridge between East and West. Considering the growing demands, Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to the energy security of the Euro-Atlantic region. As part of its presidency of COP29, Azerbaijan will work in two important directions. One is to expand commitments, and the other is to increase targets. As an energy supplier, it is also possible to contribute to environmental security. We believe that these discussions will be productive."
