Azerbaijan prepares documents to appeal to international court against Russia over AZAL plane

"Our demand was natural: that they admit their guilt, that those who shot down our plane be punished, and that compensation be paid to the families of the victims, the injured, and the AZAL plane as well," President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.

"I can talk in more detail. I want to devote a few more minutes to this. Our pilots, showing courage and professionalism, directed the plane to an emergency landing, the entire crew, all passengers were not killed. We immediately sent a team to Aktau, they filmed. It was seen that the plane was riddled with holes.

Our Prosecutor General regularly writes to the Russian Investigative Committee, and the answer is that the investigation is ongoing. We are waiting to see when this investigation will end. However, I believe that acting like this is counterproductive. This does not mean that we will forget about it. No, we cannot forget about it. We have already informed the Russian side that we will appeal to the International Justice System. We are preparing certain documents."
