Azerbaijan, Pakistan to cooperate in plant quarantine and protection

Azerbaijan and Pakistan will cooperate in the field of plant quarantine and protection, APA reports.

This is reflected in the draft law “On the approval of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Plant Quarantine and Plant Protection between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

The “Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Plant Quarantine and Plant Protection” between Azerbaijan and Pakistan was signed on February 24, 2025, in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. The purpose of the agreement is to jointly combat plant diseases and pests, preventing the spread of harmful organisms ensure the safe circulation of agricultural products and food security.

After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in one reading.
