Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye strengthen trilateral parliamentary cooperation, says Milli Majlis Speaker

"The cooperation of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Türkiye parliaments is based on the brotherhood, unity, and solidarity of our countries and peoples, which are connected by common history, culture, religion, and spiritual values. Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye have always stood by each other and supported one another," said the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, today during her speech at the opening ceremony of the Third Trilateral Meeting of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan-Türkiye Parliament Speakers.

The Speaker said that our people will never forget the political and moral support that Türkiye and Pakistan showed to Azerbaijan from the very first days of the 44-day Patriotic War. According to her, Azerbaijan has always shown support to Türkiye and Pakistan on all matters.

“During the past period, we have witnessed the trilateral cooperation mechanism between Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye consistently developing and enriching through activities carried out at the levels of parliament, foreign affairs, and defense ministries. The trilateral meeting held in Astana in July 2024 between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and especially the Trilateral Summit held in May this year in the city of Lachin, liberated from occupation by Azerbaijan, elevated this mechanism to a qualitatively new stage.

Essentially, those meetings demonstrated the will to further strengthen the unity and solidarity among our brotherly countries, as well as to develop trilateral cooperation in political, economic-commercial, transportation, energy, defense, humanitarian, and other fields. Stemming from this will, today's Trilateral Meeting at the level of Parliamentary Speakers is also an expression of our determination to strengthen parliamentary support for the cooperation of our brotherly countries. Parliamentarians will achieve this goal through joint efforts," the Speaker noted.
