"Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was created thanks to the cooperation," the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yildirim said at the panel titled "On War and Peace: The Return of "Realpolitik" within the framework of the 11th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.
Binali Yildirim stated that Türkiye, locating at the junction of East and West, Europe and Asia, has a unique position: "Our geography opens horizons to both East and West. We need to draw certain lessons from the results of two world wars. Currently, proxy forces are emerging, conflicts are taking place. On the other side, new opportunities emerge and this leads to peace. We saw that in the example of the South Caucasus. I want to mention another point. Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye built the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which is part of the Middle Corridor. In other words, we achieved this based on cooperation."
Binli Yildirim noted that Türkiye showed its political will, supported Azerbaijan: "It was Azerbaijan that liberated its lands that were under occupation for 30 years and put an end to the conflict."
