The fourth session of the strategic dialogue between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Latvia was held, the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told APA.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Latvian delegation was headed by Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ivars Lasis.
During the meeting, the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations and cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres were discussed. The importance of strengthening partnership within international organizations was emphasized.
The Latvian side was briefed in detail on the post-conflict situation and realities in the region, demining efforts, large-scale reconstruction work in Azerbaijan’s territories liberated from occupation, the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, the outcomes of the Washington meeting dated August 8, 2025, as well as the OSCE Ministerial Council’s decision on September 1 of this year regarding the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and related structures.
The session also included an exchange of views on other global, regional, and bilateral issues of mutual interest.
