Details have emerged regarding the meeting of the Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, Khalaf Khalafov, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran, APA reports, citing the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Araghchi emphasized the importance of expanding comprehensive relations between Azerbaijan and Iran and removing all obstacles on this path.
The Iranian minister expressed hope that the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia would strengthen peace and security in the region.
The information states that Khalaf Khalafov characterized the meeting as positive and constructive.
Recalling the successful visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Baku, he declared Azerbaijan’s commitment to deepening relations with Iran in various fields.
The President’s Representative on Special Assignments stated that the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Economic Commission and the Political Consultations Committee, as well as joint projects in the field of transport, are important components of the bilateral relations agenda.
“It was especially noted that some joint projects in the fields of transport, electric power, and communication routes are being continued and finalized,” the information added.
