"A deal with the EU can be further enriched," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, said at a joint press conference with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, APA reports.
The minister noted that it was proudly mentioned today that Azerbaijan is a key trade partner for the EU: "Our trade turnover is approximately 20 billion dollars. We would like to first highlight our cooperation in the energy sector. For many years, Azerbaijan has been a reliable supplier of crude oil to EU countries. Later, with the completion of the second phase of the Southern Gas Corridor, gas supply from the Caspian region to European countries was launched for the first time. After the Ukraine war, Azerbaijan's gas supply to European countries has significantly increased. Today, Azerbaijan's gas is supplied to 12 countries. The existing cooperation in this direction and the perspectives of further collaboration were discussed."
