Today, within the framework of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
During the meeting, various aspects of Azerbaijan-Kuwait bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as issues of regional and international security, were discussed.
Satisfaction was expressed with the current level of political dialogue between the two countries, and the importance of further increasing high-level visits and contacts was emphasized. It was noted that the political consultations held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs have been useful in identifying potential areas of cooperation.
The prospects for cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement, were discussed, and joint activities within the framework of Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship of the OIC next year were addressed.
Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah recalling his visit to Azerbaijan during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, noted that during the discussions, special emphasis was placed on the development of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, energy security, and tourism.
In this regard, the importance of holding a meeting of the Joint Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait was highlighted.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Both sides emphasized the importance of making full use of existing opportunities for cooperation, particularly in areas such as economic development, trade, investment, energy security, and tourism.
They also underlined the vital role of the Joint Commission for Cooperation in further deepening these relations. Additionally, Minister Bayramov provided an update on developments in the South Caucasus, particularly concerning Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery and peace efforts.
