Azerbaijan elected vice-chair of UNESCO committee bureau

From February 17 to 20, the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions was held at UNESCO Headquarters, Azerbaijan’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO told APA.

The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to UNESCO was represented at the session.

According to the information, in line with the meeting’s agenda, elections to the Bureau for the Committee’s 20th session were held on February 20.

It was stated that, as a result of the elections, Azerbaijan was unanimously elected as Vice-Chair of the Bureau.

“Azerbaijan’s election to this important position once again demonstrates the high international appreciation of our country’s contributions to the protection and promotion of cultural diversity, as well as to the implementation of the goals and principles of the relevant UNESCO convention,” the statement noted.
