A delegation led by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev held expanded meetings with Iranian officials as part of a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Cabinet of Ministers' Press Service told APA.
It was noted during the meetings that the sincere relations established between the heads of state have had a very positive impact on the development of bilateral relations and the acceleration of the implementation of joint projects.
During the visit, at a meeting with Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the important role of the parliaments in implementing joint initiatives put forward by the two countries and further strengthening mutual relations was noted.
The delegation then met with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, and current issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed.
As part of the visit, the delegation held productive discussions with Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad and Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi. Projects important to the economies of both countries were reviewed and prospects for cooperation were assessed.
