Azerbaijan closely cooperates with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as a dialogue partner, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, told journalists, APA reports.
Emphasizing the contribution of President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China and China to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Hikmet Hajiyev noted that the organization bears the name of Shanghai and the spirit of Shanghai: "China supports the mutual cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan closely cooperates with this organization as a dialogue partner. We are grateful to our Chinese friends for inviting Azerbaijan as a dialogue partner and for active mutual relations."
