On September 30, a meeting was held at the Constitutional Court with a delegation led by Fahrettin Altun, chairman of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye (TIHEK), who was visiting Azerbaijan, the Constitutional Court told APA.
Chairman Farhad Abdullayev provided detailed information about the Court’s activities and stated that Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations are based on the thesis of “One nation, two states,” as expressed by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The chairman emphasized that the unshakable relations between the two brotherly countries continuously develop as a result of the successful policies implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Later, Fahrettin Altun, chairman of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye, stated that, as in all fields, close cooperation between our countries in the judicial and legal sphere will successfully develop based on mutual support and understanding.
During the conversation, a broad exchange of views took place, and the protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as other legal issues, were discussed.
The meeting was attended by Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, judges of the Constitutional Court, and the responsible staff of the Apparatus.
At the end of the event, the guests toured the building of the Constitutional Court and took commemorative photos.
