Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission holds 16th meeting in Minsk

The 16th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission was held in Minsk, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, and humanitarian fields.

Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov emphasized the importance of industrial cooperation and the implementation of new joint projects. It was noted that bilateral trade turnover increased by more than 11% in the first four months of 2026, reaching $158 million.

The parties also discussed cooperation between the Ganja Automobile Plant and Belarusian partners, the implementation of the agro-town project in the village of Gizil Kangarli in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district, as well as new projects in household appliance manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and logistics.

At the conclusion of the meeting, several documents were signed, including the final protocol of the Intergovernmental Commission and cooperation agreements covering various sectors. The parties also agreed to hold the 17th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission in Baku in 2027.
