Azerbaijan assumes leadership of Global South NGO Platform

With the consent of NGOs representing 116 countries, leadership of the Global South NGO Platform has been entrusted to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

This announcement was made at the founding forum of the Global South Platform.

Ramil Iskandarli, Chairman of the Board at Azerbaijan National NGO Forum, was elected as the acting Secretary-General of the Global South NGO Platform for a period of one year (until the XXVI General Assembly).

Additionally, the internal structure of the organization has been clarified, and a head office has been established under the National NGO Forum of Azerbaijan.

Note that the General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform will be convened in 2026.
