The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan plan to meet in New York this month, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in response to a question from the Armenian service of Radio Liberty.
“We plan to meet in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. There is no final agreement; it depends on the schedule,” Mirzoyan said without elaborating on the agenda of the meeting.
Note that the 81st session of the UN General Assembly began its work in New York on September 8.
The last meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries took place in early September in Bishkek on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Following the meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that he and Mirzoyan had exchanged views on several issues and would meet again in the near future.
