On March 11, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Rebeca Grynspan, who is visiting the country to participate in the 13th Global Baku Forum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Various aspects and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN, as well as regional and international issues, the situation in the Middle East, and the impact of the war on the global economy and trade were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on Azerbaijan’s initiatives in global and regional energy security, trade, investments, sustainable development, economic diversification, as well as communication and transport.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided information on Azerbaijan’s policy aimed at expanding regional and global trade relations, increasing transport and logistics capabilities, implementing traditional and alternative energy projects, and developing international trade routes.
In this context, the importance of strengthening the country’s role as a transit and logistics hub, as well as developing cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor, was emphasized.
The sides also reviewed the consequences of rising tensions and the war in the Middle East and expressed their concerns about the current situation.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
