The fifth round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Brazil has taken place, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.
The information states that the political consultations were held as part of a visit to Brazil by a delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elnur Mammadov. On the Brazilian side, the negotiations were headed by Maria Laura da Rocha, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the consultations, the parties discussed current issues on the bilateral, regional, and global agendas. The parties noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan and Brazil have maintained diplomatic relations for over thirty years.
Tourism, education, and inter-parliamentary relations were assessed as the most relevant areas of bilateral cooperation.
Later, Elnur Mammadov held bilateral talks with Brazil’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maura Vieira.
During the visit, the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Brazil Working Group on Trade and Investments was held. As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of investments.
Within the framework of the visit, an agreement on cooperation in the field of education was also signed between Azerbaijan and Brazil.
