We have agreed to intensify joint efforts to implement the signed agreements through government channels and the instructions of the heads of states, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the expanded-format meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Aleksandr Turchin at the Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports.

“It is gratifying that you are in Azerbaijan today with such a high-level delegation. This once again confirms Belarus’s importance attached to the development of our relations. Azerbaijan is also interested in further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus. Today we had a very constructive discussion on the most important issues of our mutual activities. We have broad practical cooperation based on more than 170 documents. Thanks to the joint efforts of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Aleksandr Lukashenko, the Azerbaijan-Belarus partnership is currently developing in all areas and has a comprehensive character. Reciprocal visits and meetings held at the highest level, the agreements reached, and the documents signed, ensure the effective development of cooperation. The two visits of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan in 2024, as well as bilateral meetings of the heads of states at international platforms in third countries, are a clear confirmation of this. During Aleksandr Lukashenko’s state visit to Azerbaijan in May 2024, the heads of states identified new directions for further expanding cooperation. A significant package of documents was signed to expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as agriculture, customs, tourism, and the development of small and medium-sized businesses,” the Prime Minister noted.

Ali Asadov said that he had been on a working visit to Belarus in June of last year and on an official visit in October. He also mentioned that in 2024, the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, co-chaired by deputy prime ministers, was held in Minsk, and the Roadmap for 2024–2025 on the development of cooperation was updated in accordance with the instructions of the heads of states.
