Azerbaijan and Armenia have firmly rejected any attempt at retaliation now and in the future, this was reflected in the Joint Declaration on the results of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia held in Washington, D.C., United States of America, APA reports.

“We recognize the need to embark on a bright future, free from the bondage of the past conflict, in accordance with the UN Charter and the 1991 Almaty Declaration. After a conflict that caused deep human suffering, conditions have finally been created for our states to begin building good-neighborly relations based on the inviolability of international borders and the inadmissibility of the use of force for territorial acquisition. This reality, which is not subject to revision and will never be, paves the way for the closing of the page of hostility between our states. We firmly reject and exclude any attempt at retaliation now and in the future,” the document states.

The document also states that we express our confidence that this Summit will provide a solid foundation for promoting mutual respect and peace in the region.
