A panel discussion titled “Azerbaijan-Africa Relations: Current Dynamics and Strategic Potential” was held within the framework of the “Africa Day” conference in Baku, APA reports.

The panel focused on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and African countries, especially the development of partnerships in the fields of public services, education and agriculture, at the event held in Baku.

During the discussions, attended by ambassadors of African countries accredited to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani ambassadors to African countries, the importance of technology and innovation in climate change and agriculture was emphasized. Speakers noted the importance of expanding cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan and African countries in these areas.

It was highlighted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Africa in the field of education has strengthened in recent years, and that many African students are studying in Azerbaijan in medicine, ICT, and other specialties. In particular, it was stressed that the implementation of Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service model in Uganda has yielded successful results.

It was noted that the provision of public services through a single center contributes to solving governance problems in Africa. In addition, it was stated that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic activity in Africa has increased and that more African countries may open embassies in Baku in the future.

The speeches also included initiatives on holding regular high-level meetings between the African Union and Azerbaijan and deepening strategic partnership.
