From November 10, 2020, to November 11, 2024, 382 Azerbaijani citizens have fallen victim to landmines planted by Armenia during its military occupation, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev stated in a post on his X account, APA reports.
He noted that the number of landmine victims is growing and emphasized that Azerbaijan suffers from the consequences of Armenia's 30-year occupation.
"Landmine victims in Azerbaijan continue to grow. Azerbaijan is suffering from the consequences of Armenia’s 30 year long military occupation," Hikmat Hajiyev added.
According to the graphic added to his post, after November 10, 2020, 70 people were killed, and 312 were injured due to landmine explosions. Among the fatalities, 55 were civilians, and among the injured, 143 were civilians.
After November 10, 15 military personnel were killed, and 169 were injured in landmine explosions.
It was noted that since 1991, more than 3,400 landmine victims have been recorded by ANAMA, including 359 children and 38 women.
