Assistant to President of Azerbaijan: Armenia should seek its security within the region, not outside

"Azerbaijan is closely monitoring the ongoing changes. As a country, we see that polarization is taking place," said Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmat Hajiyev during the panel titled "Geopolitical Changes: Responsible Partnership versus Rivalry" within the framework of the 12th Global Forum, APA reports.

Mr. Hajiyev stated that Azerbaijan has always been a supporter of multilateral diplomacy:

"At the same time, we see the deepening of the East-West confrontation. The rivalry of major powers does not always align with interests. Azerbaijan has been the initiator of preventing geopolitical clashes in the South Caucasus. By military-political means, Azerbaijan put an end to the occupation and established a new status quo in the region based on the sovereignty of countries. This region belongs to us, while other sides come here to lecture. Azerbaijan believes that Armenia should seek its security within the South Caucasus region, not outside."
