"We would like to see the European Union's (EU) new policy towards our region. The EU's policy in the South Caucasus should not be concluded with one country," Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev said during the panel discussion on "Geopolitical Shifts: Responsible Partnerships versus Rivalry" at the 12th Global Forum, APA reports.
The President's assistant noted that they see the EU's arming of Armenia and attempting to separate it from the regional framework: "But we will work to ensure that the EU's policy is at the regional level."
Hikmat Hajiyev also said that a new reality is in sight in the post-Soviet space: "Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of new realities."
