Armenian PM paid visit abroad using Azerbaijani airspace

On August 30 this year, the Armenian Prime Minister's plane used Azerbaijani airspace to travel abroad and returned to Armenia on the night of September 6, said Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Armenian Prime Minister, in response to a media question, APA reports.

According to her, after the establishment of peace in Washington on August 8 this year, the relevant authorities of Armenia requested air passage for the Prime Minister's plane from Azerbaijan and received a positive response: "We consider this fact a practical step towards opening communications in the region, promoting the peace agenda and forming an atmosphere of mutual trust."

She recalled that Azerbaijani planes have been connecting the main part of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Armenian airspace for a long time.
