Armenian PM: Communication with Azerbaijan is of particular importance for implementing "Trump Route"

Given the current crisis in supply chains around the world, the TRIPP project could open a new stage in international trade relations, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a panel discussion at the Paris Peace Conference, APA reports, citing Armenian media.

The Prime Minister recalled that the peace agreement initialed by Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington includes a provision on opening regional connectivity: "According to that clause, Armenia and the United States will implement the Trump Route project on the territory of Armenia on a bilateral basis. This is a direct project between Armenia and the United States, but for its implementation, the connection with Azerbaijan is of particular importance, because we need access from the East to the West. This is important for both Armenia and Azerbaijan, because in this case, mutual communication opportunities will be created," Pashinyan said.

According to him, Armenia and the United States are actively working in this direction.

Pashinyan noted that the concept of regional connectivity allows both countries - Armenia and Azerbaijan - to use each other's territory for domestic, bilateral, and international communication purposes:

"Thus, a new route for international transit will open through our territory. Given the current crisis in supply chains around the world, this project can change international trade and the economic situation in our region."
