By August 8, 2025, Armenia and Azerbaijan have taken a number of steps to achieve peace and establish interstate relations, but reaching the current outcome was not possible without the participation of the US President, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), APA reports, citing Armenpress.

“A declaration on the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan was adopted in Washington, the capital of the United States, at the White House. President Trump also signed this declaration as a witness,” Pashinyan said.

The Prime Minister of Armenia called the establishment of peace a historic event.

He noted that this is not only an achievement of the government and people of Armenia but also of the government and people of Azerbaijan: “Peace is not a ceasefire or rest; peace is daily work. Peace, like a newborn baby, requires daily care. Today, our newly born peace is 1 month and 22 days old, and we must protect it, love it, and take care of it so that it grows and contributes to the flourishing of our South Caucasus region.”
