A trilateral meeting of the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia will be held in Ankara, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Defense.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Georgia Irakli Chikovani has departed for Türkiye to participate in the meeting.
The defense ministers will discuss issues of strategic partnership in a trilateral format and plans for the development of cooperation.
I. Chikovani will also hold bilateral meetings with his Turkish and Azerbaijani counterparts — Yaşar Güler and Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
Following the meeting, the ministers will sign a joint declaration and make statements.
It was noted that the meeting of the defense ministers is held annually on a rotational basis in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia. Next year, Azerbaijan will host the trilateral meeting.
