"The UN International Conference on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Geneva next week," Sam Daws, Senior Advisor to the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative, said during the panel titled "New Technologies for a New World" within the framework of the 12th Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

He noted that all interested states should make extensive efforts for the widespread application of innovations in this field: “There is a geopolitical competition among states. One of the main criteria in this field is ensuring a healthy environment as well as the implementation of harmonization policies. Another point is related to the UN playing a leading role in the application of artificial intelligence. Another task ahead is the implementation and adaptation of new challenges. When talking about artificial intelligence, the existing fragmentation in this field should be mentioned. Another issue is the application of artificial intelligence in the military field. The UN International Conference on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Geneva next week. We believe that mechanisms related to artificial intelligence should be improved.”
