“This significant panel discussion is not only a commemoration of the legacy of the past but also a symbol of the steps to be taken for the future,”said Türkiye’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgun during the panel session titled “Unity in Language, Thought, and Action: The Future of the Turkic World” held in Baku on the occasion of Turkism Day, organized by the Directorate of Communications under the Presidency of Türkiye, APA reports.
“As today’s intellectual circle, we must shape our future in line with the demands of the new era. The establishment of the Organization of Turkic States in 2021 was a major step. This body is not only of regional importance but also holds global significance. Through it, we are determined to strengthen our economic, technological, and cultural ties, deepen regional integration, and jointly seek solutions to existing problems. We are particularly interested in expanding our cooperation in strategic fields such as education, media, and culture. Joint television and radio broadcasts, music and art festivals can serve as a beacon for us in this path. Especially in a time of rising geopolitical risks, the Turkic world must strengthen its operational dynamics and become a more effective platform in resisting external influence. The closeness of the Turkic world is fully in line with the three core principles of the UN. Other countries try to pursue their interests by means that violate international law. Next year will mark the 100th anniversary of the 1926 Turkology Congress held in Baku,” he noted.
