“This is not my first visit to Karabakh, but the projects implemented in the region have created a very positive impression on me,” Slovakia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasimov, told APA’s correspondent dispatched to Karabakh.
“My impressions are very positive. I have been to Karabakh several times and, in general, I highly appreciate the work being carried out. The organization of such visits is very useful for us. One of Slovakia’s companies is participating in a village construction project in the Aghdam District,” the diplomat said.
He also announced that Slovakia will be represented at the World Urban Forum to be held in Baku in two weeks:
“Slovakia will be represented at the forum. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development will come to Baku.”
The diplomat added that an official visit of the Speaker of the Slovak Parliament to Azerbaijan is planned in the near future. It was also noted that a visit of the Slovak President to Azerbaijan is envisaged.
“Our President’s official visit to Azerbaijan is also planned, and he also wants to visit Karabakh. Therefore, we will come here again in the near future,” the ambassador noted.
The ambassador also emphasized that there are several areas for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia: “We have good cooperation in the fields of defense industry and infrastructure projects. There are many areas for cooperation.”
