Ambassador: Khizi–Absheron Wind Power Plant strengthens Azerbaijan–China partnership

Cooperation between Azerbaijan and China is being further strengthened through the success of the Khizi–Absheron Wind Power Plant, China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, stated during a briefing held at the embassy, APA reports.

The ambassador noted that it was of special importance for her to attend the opening ceremony of the Khizi–Absheron Wind Power Plant, the largest wind power plant in the region, together with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on January 8 this year.

“This important project will provide electricity to more than 300,000 households and will make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of both Azerbaijan and the South Caucasus region by reducing carbon emissions by more than 400,000 tons,” the ambassador said.
