“Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in the fields of defense and security is also at a high level,” Slovakia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Elchin Gasimov said at a reception in Baku marking Constitution Day and Armed Forces Day of the Slovak Republic, APA reports.
He said that, together with their Swedish colleagues, the Slovak Embassy in Baku will continue to serve as NATO’s contact point embassy in Azerbaijan: “This mission is an honor for us and a sign of the trust placed in us. It gives us the opportunity to actively contribute to the dialogue between the Alliance and Azerbaijan, support partnership in the fields of security and public diplomacy, while also contributing to the further development of bilateral relations between our countries.”
The ambassador recalled the participation of Slovak companies in the reconstruction of post-conflict regions: “In this way, Slovakia is establishing a lasting footprint and legacy on Azerbaijani soil. We are also pleased that direct air links will be launched soon. This will bring our countries even closer and facilitate contacts between people, business representatives and students.”
