Azerbaijan plays a role in resolving misunderstandings between Israel and regional countries, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan George Deek said at a press conference on the results of his diplomatic tenure, APA reports.
The ambassador noted that the mutual trust that Israel has achieved with Azerbaijan does not exist in its relations with many countries of the world.
"It is precisely this trust that allows Azerbaijan to mediate between Israel and other countries. It is no secret that a meeting of Israeli and Turkish officials was held in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan played a key role in resolving the misunderstandings between Israel and Türkiye. There is also news about the meetings held with Syria in Baku. I believe the key condition for the success of these talks is not to speak about them publicly. I think we can trust Azerbaijan to continue this mediation," said George Deek.
