"Azerbaijan is the most important friend of Pakistan," Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee told journalists, APA reports.
"Pakistan gained its independence on August 14, 1947, and this year we celebrate the 74th anniversary of our independence. Over the past 74 years, Pakistan has achieved great development in various fields. Our economy, human resources have grown, the industry has developed. Main point is that Pakistan has gained important friends in the international arena. I am glad to note especially that Azerbaijan is Pakistan's most important friend, both countries stood side-by-side in both good and bad times, stood by each other. Pakistan supported Azerbaijan at its difficult times, Azerbaijan has always stood by Pakistan, I would like to stress Jammu and Kashmir issue. We highly appreciate the courageous support of the Azerbaijani people," noted the diplomat.
