AIR Center: Disinformation campaign targeting Azerbaijan over Middle East issues underway

A disinformation campaign is being conducted against Azerbaijan on the topic of the Middle East, said Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), told journalists during the conference of think tanks from member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Baku, APA reports.

Farid Shafiyev said that while the campaign against Azerbaijan was previously related to Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, it is now related to the events taking place in the Middle East.

He said that such campaigns are also being conducted within the OTS, which serve to create division. He cited the high-level event held by the European Union and Central Asian countries as an example: "Some geopolitical actors are trying to damage the organization's agenda within the framework of such meetings."

According to him, the conference of think tanks held today helps to find solutions to such disinformation campaigns.
