Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations, spoke about the activities of the European Union (EU) mission on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, APA reports.
Shafiyev said at a press conference on the results of the year that with Canada joining, the mission has evolved into an "EU Plus" format.
According to him, no third-country forces should be present in the border zone: "Currently, the mission on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border has transformed into an 'EU Plus' format."
The Air Center Chairman noted that Armenia is trying to extend the mission's activities for 2-3 years. Farid Shafiyev also pointed out that if the delimitation process is prolonged, the EU mission could remain on the border for 5-10 years.
He added that if official Yerevan continues its current position, signing a peace agreement in 2025 seems unrealistic.
