The Interim President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, recalled with satisfaction his meeting with the Azerbaijani head of state within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Ahmad Al-Sharaa said during a expanded meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
He expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s brotherly support to Syria.
Ahmad Al-Sharaa regretted that the previous government had damaged Syria’s relations with many countries, including Azerbaijan. He stated that his country is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in political, economic-commercial, cultural, humanitarian, and other fields.
Congratulating Azerbaijan on its achievements and the liberation of its territories from occupation, the Transitional President of Syria emphasized that our country faced difficulties in the 1990s but overcame them with dignity and is now developing.
