Afghanistan is ready to play the role of a bridge between Central and South Asia, said Tavakal Ahmadiar, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, at the Business Forum of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Shusha, themed “Promotion of Investment and Trade as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development in the ECO Region,” APA reports.
Tavakal Ahmadiar noting that realizing this requires political will, legal facilitation, and comprehensive regional support highlighted that Afghanistan proposed to create joint regional financial funds to support investment and trade in developed countries, improve customs procedures and facilitate transit, and strengthen banking and digital infrastructure to ensure easier financial and commercial relations between member states. At the same time, he emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the International Road Transport system to reduce costs in the transport sector, increase security, and enhance transparency.
