Azerbaijani President: Zangezur corridor cannot be unblocked without Turkish agreement and participation

"Their fake history with respect to so-called genocide has nothing to do with reality. It was war, it was a situation when people were fighting with each other, countries fighting with each other but then there was a reconciliation. At that time Armenia had difficulties not only with Ottoman Empire but it has difficulties with other neighbors," said President Ilham Aliyev as he responded to the question at the “New vision for South Caucasus: Post-conflict development and cooperation” international conference held at ADA University, APA reports.

"The Turkish government on several occasions publicly offered the creation of some joint groups of historians to look objectively, impartially this issue. But they rejected why because they need this fake history in order to get political dividends. They are exploiting this fake history in order to get protection, in order now to get some assistance from some countries.

As you know today we are discussing the unblocking communication and particularly the Zangezur corridor. And the Zangezur corridor cannot be unblocked without the Turkish agreement and their participation. Now Tukey is not a participant of the trilateral working group on the level of deputy PMs of three countries. But Turkey is informed by us about what we discuss. If Armenia wants to put an end to difficulties with communication if they want an opportunity to become a transit country it is only Turkey that can provide them with that. And as far as I know, the Turkish government is ready. Again the ball is in the Armenian side.
