5th Silk Road Forum begins in Tbilisi, Azerbaijani PM attends opening ceremony

The 5th Jubilee Silk Road Forum has started its work in Tbilisi, APA’s local bureau reports.

The official opening ceremony of the forum is being held at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The event is attended by the Prime Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia – Irakli Kobakhidze, Ali Asadov, and Nikol Pashinyan. The heads of government will deliver opening speeches.

This year’s Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, held under the patronage of Irakli Kobakhidze and with the main theme and slogan “Invest in Connectivity – Grow in Stability,” has brought together nearly 2,000 participants from 73 countries.

The event has gathered high-ranking political figures, representatives of the business sector and international organizations, as well as ministers from non-regional countries, leading global companies, international financial institutions, and experts.

On the first day of the two-day forum, seven panel sessions will be held on topics such as global trade, transport and logistics, the development of the Middle Corridor, energy, and digital transformation. As part of the forum, the Tbilisi Financial Summit will be held tomorrow.

Note that the first Tbilisi Silk Road Forum was held in 2015. The forum has established itself as a high-level international platform for dialogue between the governments of various countries, as well as for multilateral cooperation among states, international organizations, and business structures.
